Our Water Play

As many of you know, we moved from our little itty bitty apartment to a nice big condo back in June. Well our nice big condo came with a nice big deck (14X15 ft) which is fully railed with a locking gate that leads down to a patch of grass below. I love it because I can open the slider and just let Little A out to play outside.

When we first moved, I set some things up out there so that she would have fun things to explore.

I know this collection isn't very pretty but it definitely does the trick. She likes to pour water (a GREAT toddler montessori activity) back and forth between the containers. She also uses the measuring spoons to scoop and move the water from one container to another.

On particularly hot days I have been putting ice in one of the containers so that she can explore it and stay cool at the same time.

Also in her deck kit are some shells and other fun little tidbits. She absolutely loves her shells! She likes to bring them all to me, one at a time, to talk about how one is smooth, another roughly, another small.

I'm bummed that the summer is waning and I'll have to put these things away until next year... but it'll be fun to get them back out and see how her growing intellect will use them differently.

  1. So fun! My daughter loves pouring too. It's always the really simple activities that keep kids engaged forever.
