"All Around Me I See"- A Book Review

As you know, Little A just had a birthday. Her Gita got her a few books and I thought I'd discuss one here because I love it so much! It's called "All Around Me I See" by Laya Steinberg.

This book is meant for children ages 0-7. The copy we have is a board book and it's well put together, very sturdy. Part of the reason I enjoyed this book is because the illustrations are just beautiful (despite there being a couple that are a little... different). They depict a little girl and her family going out for a picnic and overnight camping. They are very light and colorful.

The narrative is not so much a story as a series of observations about nature. This appeals to me as a "crunchy" mom. The observations made are from the child's point of view and are enlightened.

"A forest is a family for a tree."

Little A loves to have this read to her. It takes only a few minutes to get through and the pages are rich with opportunities to ask questions and point out teaching points.

This book is one of my favorites right now for sure. :)
